IMG_1698As Second Oboist with the MET Orchestra, nine months out of the year you’ll find me in a dark orchestra pit at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The other three months of the year you’re likely to find me in Section 318 at Citi Field, just behind home plate, accompanied by my husband and my Summer Family or some iteration thereof.

Life can get kind of complicated during the early part of the baseball season and during the Post Season (if, God willing, there is one!)–since they overlap the opera season–but nevermind…

Born in Kansas, I–like former Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey–attended Wichita State University. It was there that I received a Bachelor of Music degree. I went on to Philadelphia, earning a Master of Music degree from Temple University (and attending many Phillies games), where I was a student of Richard Woodhams, former Principal Oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

When I’m not playing the oboe, attending Mets games, or taking pictures of or reading or writing about the Mets, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two Westies–Tristan and Izzy, reading, photography, and genealogy.
